If you’ve made it this far, you already have 3 tasks or “things” completed of the 23 tasks that are required to go in the draw for the various prizes.
But how do you qualify? Good question! By registering your blog and recording your progress on each of the 23 things. For the sake of simplifying this process for TQL staff involved, you will use the Tracking log that has been created on the TQL Learning 2.0 wiki.
To use this log, simply access the Tracking Log and put an "X" under the Tasks that you’ve completed.
You will also need to include the URL for the blog you created in Task 3 (e.g. http://xxxx.
So, to complete Task 4 – why not hop on over to the Tracking log now and record your first 4 items on this discovery quest. It’s really that easy, and just think - now there’s only 19 more things to go.

Hi, I am up to Task 4 registering my Blog. I am with QLD TAFE so no PLCMC ID # , and I went to 43things .com page to find the 23 things link to register and got lost reading through such things as "getting a tatoo, making a difference , building a website, ride a camel through the sahara" kind of things people want to do before they die. SO where do I go?
Hi Cate. Are you following our TAFE QLD version of the 23 Things (at http://tqllearning2.pbwiki.com) or are you following PLCMC's original program? They are very similar, but we have modified the PLCMC program to cater to our own needs.
Please make sure you are on the right track, and let me know if you get lost.
Cheers, Robyn
Some answers to some questions I have had regarding this task:
Q1: I don’t understand how the permanent link in task 4 works, or is meant to work with the L2 log. We are advised that “this is the link you want to use when recording your progress in the L2 Log”. I find I am going to the tracking log via the link on the weekly tasks page as I’ve found that to be easier. Is that ok?
Answer: You have done the right thing. The "permanent link" they refer to is the link to your blog post, which you can use if you want to tell someone how to get to your post (e.g. by email). Your blog has a link and each post you create also has a link.
I have removed this part of Task 4 because it is too confusing. I only need to know the name of your blog at this stage, which you have obviously worked out how to copy into the spreadsheet.
Q2: On the tracking sheet, when I r/click on my blog URL and choose “search the Web” it doesn’t find it. Should it go there automatically?
Answer: The easiest way to open a link from the spreadsheet is to left-click on the link and then click on the little blue box with the arrow that pops up on the left-hand side of the link (I did notice your link wasn't displaying the box until I got rid of an extra space at the end of your URL). Another way is to copy the link and paste it into another Internet Explorer window.
Q3: I don’t know if it is useful for you to know this but: at the end of the task 4 sheet, clicking on post a comment produced an error code bX-w3acz6. This happened last Wednesday, I’ve just checked this again and it seems to be ok now.
Answer: I'm not sure why you got that error, but sometimes these online tools play up a little and you just have to try again. It's a bit of a pain but you get used to it after a while.
Q4: I would like to know how to alter the name of my blog, the background and content, so far I haven’t managed to work that out.
Answer: If you log in when viewing your blog, you should be able to go to the "dashboard" and click on "settings". You will then be able to change lots of options. Make sure you save your changes on each screen that you modify.
