Task 22: Online communities

With the chance of winning a $100 book voucher right around the corner, it’s time to take a look around some of the more popular online communities. Two of the most popular are FaceBook and MySpace (if both of these are blocked for you at work, try signing up to one of the many Edna groups that may be of interest to you, including our own TQLlearning2 Edna group!).

For this discovery exercise, you merely need to familiarize yourself a bit with the structure of Facebook, MySpace or Edna groups.

Discovery Resources:

Discovery Exercise:
  1. Create a FaceBook account for yourself and invite all your work colleagues, friends and family.
Alternatively, log into our own TQL Learning 2.0 Edna group with the invitation key of "tafeqldlibraries" and have a play. Start discussion topics, leave comments, share files, and even set up your own interest groups with other TAFE libraries staff with similar interests.

  2. Create a blog post about your findings. Did you find it difficult to join an online community? Can you see a use for this at your workplace?
Well done! Almost finished now ...
:)
